I worked with Karen Callow, (Girlfriend of John the Bomb) so I
got to see the Reptiles quite a few times. I think the line-up
was: Sham, Colin, John and Dom from Poland on drums.
Then all went quiet.
Then the Jugglers appeared.
I remember fantastic nights at the Marquee, Half Moon, Nashville etc etc and
saw the Elvis Costello support gig.
Colin tells a great story of how on the second night they were onstage at
7.30 and at 9.30 he was in an empty pub in Beckenham having a pint!!! Rock'n
Roll hey.
So me and my then girlfriend put an ad in the paper for a guitarist and put
One the Juggler as an influence - Colin of course rings up and says I'm yer
man as he has just left them. We get very close to a Major USA Deal which
falls flat at the last minute. Insanity follows including a ten year break
of contact.
We also recorded a session with Sham and Mick Ronson at a studio in Leatherhead - a
song called Dance to Me.
Then me and my now wife form Geezerbird and phone Colin up out of the blue
and horarh he is up for it - and he's been in Geezerbird ever since.
I still believe that if you saw the Jugglers live you were hooked - live
it just worked.
