Hello, Firstly, can I say what a treat to put the latest OTJ CD on in my car. Albeit demos from a few years ago, but still the same energy and passion. Do you know of anyone who has the back catalogue on CD........Some strange fashion, passion killer, Django's coming etc? Wouldn't it be great to re-release the lot. Thanks Darren |

To all you awesome people who are keeping One the Juggler alive:
I have just finished burning my old vinyls of Nearly A Sin, Some Strange Fashion and Passion Killer 12” to my computer, scratches and all – can't wait to plug the CDs into my car stereo! I've loved this band ever since I got Nearly the Sin as a freebie at my college newspaper – I wrote a glowing review but the paper didn't run it. I discovered the second album only three years ago in a used record bin -- didn't even know it existed – and was in awe. Truly, I was lucky to ever hear this band. I envy all you Brits who got to see them live back then at the local clubs. (Are there any bootlegs out there?)
I googled the band in 2005 and found NOTHING. So, imagine my surprise when I googled them again today and found this great site – with a NEW album and lots of news & videos. What a treasure trove. It's such a good feeling to know that great little obscure band whose albums I've clung to for all these years actually WAS loved by many others who also remember them and listen to them still. They are really great.
If you do release the old albums to CD, I'll be in line for fresh copies. Keep up the good work! And THANKS for the great music!

In your history page I read about the tour in Israel 1983 when they meet Mark almond. I remember it I was 7 years old and I met them my father owned the club they preformed in. They were very nice and gave me a sweatshirt of the band.
I am sending you a picture of the gig's invitation. Mark was there with Mark and the mambas.

I haven't listened to OTJ since losing or breaking my vinyl copies of Nearly a Sin and Some Strange Fashion, both Albums that I fell in love with in the mid 80's at school. Every now and then I find myself humming or singing one of the songs on the records and regretting that I no longer own them(notably Django's Coming and Passion Killer). I decided tonight to put One The Juggler into Google to see if I could get a copy of either or both records anywhere, particularly on CD or download. I couldn't believe it when I happened across the web site and MySpace pages to see that the band have a new record and last years tour. Fantastic news. However, I am still keen to update my collection with the 80's albums but cannot see them available anywhere. I notice form the web site that you have found the original mixing tapes which you are gonna bring into the 21st century. Does this mean that I will be able to get hold of these records soon on CD or download?? |

Wow - what a blast from the past!
Never thought I'd hear of this band again. From where I am sitting I can see a Passion Killer A4 size promo poster stuck on the wall. I still have a full size poster I 'liberated' from the Marquee when you played there too. Still got the first album and 'Passion Killer' 7" somewhere too. I never knew the second album was actually released, although I do have a tape of it obtained from the studio. ;-) |

I received Destination Planet Blue a couple of days ago. I was dubious at first - demos that had been hidden for 25 years - mostly unknown songs definitely not on albums or singles but...............it is great....amazingly wonderful....that's the One the Juggler I remember. Fantastic songs with quirky and witty lyrics to dance around the room to....and those sharp guitars. Hey you can still be 17 in your 40's. Lovit....
Was checking out Geezerbird earlier - they're fun. |

Hi Mitzi
Just been browzing your latest pix of the boys at the Amersham Arms on 6 April 07. I think you've caught the spirit of the night in your amazingly clear and sharp images. I was disappointed to see that for myself and the many other fans, I'm sure, that there's nowhere that we can get copies of your stunning shots. Is there an official on-line fanclub shop? Put me out of my missery and put a price list up on the Juggler site, so we can send you lots of luvverly dosh for your photos!
Many congrats on your amazing site and thanks for all your hard work.
I have my own photo website which your viewers/surfers might be interested in. There are no shots of musical gigs, but of shows and the North Wales landscapes, from the ground and the air.

Can't quite make up my mind whether "Body And Soul" or "We Don't Want No Love" is my favourite. Almost fell out of my chair though when I read the inside booklet & saw Joe Slythe as the drummer on "One Hello". Joe Slythe was famous as Desert Island Joe Slythe, one of the founding fathers of Splodgenessabounds of "Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps Please" fame. I'd no idea what he'd done as a drummer after that - would never have guessed in a million years it would have been Juggling after Splodging! |

What an exhilarating night 6 th April was. Band and audience loving every minute, an absolutely fantastic atmosphere. On more than one occasion during OTJ's set, I happened to exchange glances with the people around me to find that we were all wearing an "Is this really happening?" expression. This wasn't (just) about nostalgia - I still go to a lot of gigs and I've not seen many in the last few years that was as much fun, was as expertly delivered and had so many great songs as the one on Good Friday at the Amersham Arms. It required a 300-mile round trip for me but I'd do it again tomorrow - thanks to everyone involved, it was terrific. |

I've been to a lot of gigs over the years but I don't think I've been to any with an atmosphere quite like last night.
The sense of excitement, anticipation, and maybe a little nervousness on the part of some, could be felt long before the band came on stage but when they got going it was clear that this reunion was meant to be.
The songs sounded as they did all those years ago (let's forget for the moment exactly HOW many years ago!!)and the energy and enthusiasm of all the guys was very noticeable.
The gig was a hot, sweaty one (but that's how they should be!) and took me back to my teenage years from the start to the end.
I really hope you do this again because I thought it was absolutely fantastic, and I quite like being taken back to my teenage years!!!!!

I first heard about OTJ from a Rolling Stone review of NAS, back in
'84. Unfortunately, being a teen in Ohio, USA prevented me from
seeing them live. So I had to settle for U2 instead.
The site rocks. I, too, have looked online for sites on OTJ, to no
avail, until now. And the addition of the You Tube videos is the
icing on the cake! I can't find their cd's anywhere. Are the cd's
they put out subsequent to NAS available to your knowledge? Maybe on
a pay-to-download site? I cannot find them on Amazon or iTunes(US).
Long ago I ripped my NAS cassette into mp3's, but that's all I've got.
Keep up the good work! |

Hi
I have been looking for years for the band who did "here comes the man" Its been covered again in South Africa by a group called the Parlotones , dunno if you knew that? It was a sort of "one hit" in South Africa in the eighties.
The Parlotones are lovely, so clever and nice as well as musical. The lead singer, Kahn Morbee , was on our version of "the weakest link" and came second, but our version of Ms Ann Robinson is a very diet version and she didn't phase him at all.
Do you know what happened to the other band members of boom boom room?

Congratulations on a fabulous website Mitzi, and great to see so many other OTJ fans out there. I saw the band twice in the 80s, both times at Birmingham Poly. The first time was in 1984, where they played a blinding show in the Student Union bar with able support from a band called the Orson Family. The second time was (I assume) the following year to promote "Some Strange Fashion" and by which time they'd 'graduated' to the much larger Main Hall. As a Bowie fan I was naturally looking forward to seeing Ronno play lead guitar on a live set of OTJ classics, but he unfortunately suffered a family bereavement and had to miss the show. The stand-in guitarist (I don't recall his name) did a commendable job in the great man's absence, however. To echo the comments from others on the site, is the reunion show pay-on-the-night only - I'd be travelling from the Midlands and would be gutted to show up and see a "Sold Out" sign on the door! (And being now in my forties I don't fancy camping out on the pavement!) |

Hello.
Before I go any further, I must confess to less than perfect knowledge of One the Juggler. I found this site whilst conducting yet another fruitless search for anything on the Boom Boom Room. Then I realised the connection between the two. I have two pieces of BBR vinyl: a 12" copy of the fabulous ' Here comes the man ' and the album, ' Stretch '. There was only one copy in the shop that day and I snaffled it. Sadly, the album doesn't fit into the disc tray of my CD player. Does ' Stretch ' exist on CD? Anywhere? God, I ****ing love that album; I'd happily consider parting with a testicle for a copy of that on a CD, or even in mp3 format.
I'm not greatly optimistic about finding it in either format, but if anyone can offer any information I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Found both the MySpace page and website for One the Juggler. After 20 years
of searching, I can't say how incredibly happy it made me to find this band
was still alive and kicking and not just a figment of my imagination from
the early 80s.
I remember reviewing "Nearly a Sin" for my college radio station and as
music director writing one simple command on the album jacket: PLAY THIS !!
"Patience of a Saint" was number one for about two months. The co-music
director compared the band to Bowie.
But now my vinyl is gone and my cassette is 20 years old. Searching year
after year and finding nothing but more used vinyl has been disappointing.
Now that we know there is a website and the band is still together, it would
be incredible to see the catalog reissued on CD. All of us fans (yes, we do
exist in the States) would be wowed to be able to get these works in CD
format.
If there were ever a band that deserved a reissue on CD blitz it is One the
Juggler. |

First of all, thank you for the site! It's great and also makes me think I'm
not all alone. Having told/quizzed/threatened my friends I think I can
safely say OTJ were a true cult band (nobody had heard of them). I was
beginning to believe I'd dreamt it all and woken up in the shower, but
unless you guys all had the same dream I didn't!!
Now surely somebody can see, from the comments around here, there is a
demand for the albums etc on CD/mp3 (I'm fed up of being tantalised and then
finding what I want is an LP) soooo...any chance?
Reunion gig!! Now all I have to do is swap my work duties, sort out
childcare and get down from Sheffield but I'm going to. Is it a big place?
Can I buy a ticket in advance (it's a long way for a sold out gig!) Anybody
else likely to be going on thier own (see my comments about my friends) and
want to meet up?
Keep up the stellar work and let's lobby for a tour

First saw OTJ when they supported Elvis Costello and was instantly hooked--saw them many times--mainly at the marquee and was delighted when I stumbled on your site--so many memories--anyway here's hoping you can help--if not thanks for what you've already done with this site--its amazing !! thanks John |

What an absolute joy to see such an excellent One the Juggler site hit the net! This band have been much talked about over the years by me and my Bromleyite mates who all went to see them locally back in the day. And what a thrill it was when a couple of years ago friend BJ transferred the album Nearly a Sin to CD for me!! Most excellent! And of course, this has since been imported onto my iPod - bringing OTJ well and truly into the 21st century :-) Before I knew that this site was up and running I searched for OTJ stuff on YouTube and couldn't believe it when I was able to sit back and watch the Passion Killer video!! Oh the joys of modern technology! In addition to being a fan - my father was their accountant in Bromley back in the early days. Am really hoping to get along to the reunion on 6th April.. Many thanks Mitzi - you have made a girl of a certain age very happy!!! |

I saw your One the Juggler site today after one of my occasional Google searches (more in hope of CD reissues than anything else) & was blown away by what you have done. A remarkable tribute to a remarkable band & even more staggering. new music on the way!! I was also pleased to see that I have all the existing records on the discography - if only I still had a record player!!
Have you (or anyone you know) converted the old OTJ records onto MP3?
Now, I was looking down your concert history, & unless I'm going senile (quite possible) I remember an OTJ concert in Leeds (Poly, I think) in July 1985. They were support to a Mod band & for some reason the Style Council springs to mind (though I left not long after OTJ had finished as whoever they were they were crap). They were only allowed to play for half an hour or so to make way for their "headliners" which I remember pissed me off. The reason I remember this was that it clashed with the Leeds Roundhay Park Bruce Springsteen Concert (which would have made it 7 th July) - I trotted off for the last train back to Wakefield, only to find a 1 mile queue of bandana-wearing Brucie fans at Leeds Station. Not enough cash for a taxi, so it was a ten mile walk back home!!
Here's where I don't trust my alcohol addled student brain! Why would OTJ be supporting Style Council? I tried searching for SC touring history, but it seems they were in Belgium at that time so couldn't have been them. So who were they supporting? Great to see Mick Ronson though. what a legend!
Thanks for all you are doing & keep up the good work! |

Thanks Mitzi. Your site is awesome. I would love it if you could post "Are you the one". I did vote for it on your site. 1. When I first heard One the Juggler I was married with a child and a
mortgage and didn't have a lot of time to follow bands; however I
managed to keep up with OtJ releases until I had a full collection and a
few years ago I had it all transferred on to CD including the B sides.
At least I thought I did! Now, through this site I've discovered that
there are two singles I haven't got - a total of 4 songs missing from my
collection!!!! Buggrit! Where the hell am I going to find them?
2. Since I got interweb access a couple of years ago I've often searched
for OtJ without success so I was really pleased to discover this site
(via youtube); It's filled me in on everything I didn't know about them
- which was a lot.
3. I voted for Beat A Retreat as my favourite song in the poll - I used
to perform it with my band.
4. Anyone know the words for Diamonds You Meet? It's a favourite of
mine. |

Hello-
I just came across your brilliant ONE THE JUGGLER website.
I've been attempting to put a lot of the songs from vinyl to CD, but some of
my copies of the singles are not in the best of shape.
Have you, or do you know somebody that has already transferred any of this
to CDR? It would be great for somebody to make this stuff available to
fans, and/or hopefully make something available to purchase, so we could
help put some money back into the bands pockets. |

One The Juggler were one of my favourite bands of that time and I have cited them as influences.
They played a short-notice gig at Dingwalls (where I was Lighting Engineer) on a Saturday in mid '85.
I was off that night because it was my Engagement Party, but I got a call saying OTJ were playing so I apologised to my (luckily understanding) Fiance and ran down to see the show!
So they kind-of played my Engagement LOL.
I went backstage and thanked them afterwards and a couple of them dropped in to the real party later. |

Found your Juggler site by accident, nice indeed. I was a fan of the band in the early 80´s and their debut album was and still is a real gem keep up the good work. |

Glad someone as set up a web site for this band. I am more into 80's music than Ii am into today's music. Thought Passion Killer was a great song. Got Nearly A Sin will have to dig it out. |

The One The Juggler site looks great. I like the photo pages. I think I only saw the band twice and you have shots of both gigs. I took pictures too, at Woolwich Poly (Feb '83) and the Half Moon |

I remember seeing them play at the Woolwich Tramshed or somewhere, and I loved that frst 'Passion Killer' single (and the b-side).......And I seem to remember at an early Climb/pre-Thrashing Doves gig we were quite impressed when Rocco came into our dressing room and said he liked it. |
